NEWS & UPDATES

7/29/2009 Our sincerest apologies to the people who have not been able to contact us via our email addresses at this site. I've got my personal email address on here now so we will be sure to reply to every inquiry about the campground.

new room decorations We had a wonderful visit with our first guests from Toronto, E and Ray. They said they really liked it here and we believe them. They loved the bbq'd moose ribs and grilled Copper River Red Salmon, and they were so enthusiastic about the possibilities here we have to thank them for all their ideas and feedback. We're going to keep in touch via facebook and we're looking forward to all being friends. What a bonus.

Their reservations were for a tent site, but with the bear roaming the neighborhood lately I decided to fix up the hostel room and put them in there. The water wasn't on yet but they used the outhouse and a freshwater pitcher and bowl seemed to be all they needed. So gracious, but won't it be a nice room when everything works?

2/19/2009 CR website under complete overhaul! Many new pages added, with a lot more pictures and content.

The business plan for Camp Redington is taking shape. It's been a very "organic" process of development, our services are steadily evolving and adapting to meet our visitors' needs. Our first Alaskan School of Hard Knocks seminar is a gertee building course. It will be held here at Camp Redington the last week of April 2009. Space is limited so be sure to let us know if you're interested in attending!

Tim's Tours are finally ironed out and ready to be presented to the folks up at the Copper River Princess Lodge. The tours were designed in response to the Princess's request that locals provide afternoon excursions to their guests. We decided against giving actual dog sleds rides on carts we'd need to modify for summer use. Tim's dogs are trained racers and his bloodline is a mixture of hunting breeds, labs, shorthair pointers, etc. These dogs are raised and trained to go fast, and nothing else. There are two other kennels in the area maintained by more casual mushers who offer dog rides in the summer, and we decided to send anyone who wants a ride to them. Tim's Tours are a simple home visit with a fascinating, one-of-a-kind Alaskan Sourdough. These tours are for the visitors who want to spend a few hours relaxing, looking around his funny yard, and chatting it up at his house.

New Iditarod ebay auctions going up next week. We're revising the website first. :) Please be paitent while some of the pages remain non functional.
